Research

The company participates in a number of (EU or national) R&TD projects in the fields of computer and network security, mobile networks, multi-modal interfaces, and high performance computing, such as, (see: http://rtd.vtrip.net):

  • PLASTIC (EU/FP6), implementing security middleware libraries and services as well as applications for mobile B3G devices and networks,
  • NoAH (EU/FP6) implementing honeypot-based systems for early detection of cyber attacks,
  • TIGER (GR-EU/FP6, Celtic), simulating metropolitan networks and services which combine Ethernet, IP and GMPLS,
  • ESTIA (GR), for security and penetration testing of internet sites and enterprise intranets,
  • METATRO (GR), involving the application of RFIDs, sensors and fleet management in Logistics (i.e. transport of sensitive goods), over GPRS/GSM networks,
  • MILITIADES (GR-USA), implementing multi-layer techniques for attack detection systems,
  • ENOSIS (GR), co-developing an integrated information and decision support system, offering multimodal services for a variety of transport systems,
  • HAVI (GR), co-designing high availability mechanisms for VoIP infrastructures,
  • METHODIKA (GR), developing procedures and structures for distributed virtual enterprises in the ICT sector,
  • TALOS (GR), developing multi-modal information services for an integrated seismic crisis management system,
  • SORANOS (GR), designing and implementing an integrated information system for rare medical archives,
  • PA-MICH (GR), co-designing and implementing a system for efficient 3D-matching check between the structure of input viruses' molecules and structures of other known molecules,
  • SecSPeer (GR), co-designing secure and scalable peer-to-peer computing and communication systems,
  • mVISION (GR), providing video-streaming and surveillance services over cellular networks and phones,
  • TraceHoney (GR), designing information systems to support traceability and transparency in food networks (for honey and other goods).
