The Virtual Trip Ltd Systems Consulting Group (SCG) is specialized in the delivery of high-end consulting services in the fields of high performance computing, computer and network security and computing & networking infrastructure.

SCG is highly experienced in: i) Linux-based infrastructure design and deployment including network and system services setup (firewall, network address translation, mail server, DNS, Web Server, FTP server, LDAP server, NFS server, Samba server, backup services etc), ii) Clustering solutions for critical installations in terms of performance and/or availability using solutions such as the Redhat Clustering Suite or Scali Manage, iii) Vulnerability assessment and the provision of relevant ICT security services.

SCG has designed and deployed solutions requiring zero downtime, such as the temporary archiving system used by the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY), used in order to retrieve process and store satellite meteorological data. It has also designed, deployed and maintained solutions for customers such as the ΑΡΙΑΔΝΗ super markets (serving more than 150 sites all over Crete).

SCG is a Dell Partner, providing professional services to its customers. In the context of this cooperation, it has designed and implemented solutions for several organizations, such as clusters and Global File System solutions utilized by the Eurobank Data Center.

Virtual Trip is the distributor of SCALI – Scalable Linux Systems AS, (www.scali.com), the leading cluster management software provider, that has been recently acquired by Intel. SCALI provides a cluster management solution, Scali Manage, as well as the world’s highest performance MPI implementation, Scali MPI Connect. Virtual Trip has deployed SCALI solutions setting up clusters at the University of Patras and at the Fine Arts School (under deployment).

Moreover, Virtual Trip is the distributor of Siltanet solutions for mobile identity management using two-factor authentication systems on regular mobile phones.

The SCG personnel is highly skilled and experienced in i) kernel code development both for general purpose (Linux, Unix, MS Windows) as well as for embedded operating systems, ii) networking protocols, iii) system configuration and setup, iv) system architecture for high performance / high availability installations.
